Have Less, Do More, Be More.
A couple of weeks ago I came across the above motto in another blog which really made me think about my own life.
Have Less, Do More, Be More.
It seems so simple and an obvious way to have a happy life. Thinking about everything that I own, I feel like all I really want to have are my clothes, guitar, cd’s, my memory box*, books and my bed. There’s nothing else that I really want to have and I honestly hope that as I get older, finish my degree and find my ‘career’, that I don’t change this part about myself. I don’t want to become someone who has a lot of random possessions.
Have Less, Do More, Be More.
The last two parts of this quote really motivate me. Do More, Be More. I have a huge drive inside me to experience, discover and travel the world. Being a student right now obviously means that this isn’t something I can just pick up and do anytime I want. I’ve been lucky enough to check out a little bit of Paris, Loire Valley, Budapest, Barcelona and go on an amazing road trip around most of Australia so I have experienced a tiny piece in the giant global pie, but that’s not enough for me. Each year I want to be able to go on at least one amazing trip. I’m planning my trip for next year to be Tanzania, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and do some volunteering for a couple of weeks.
Have Less, Do More, Be More.
So until next year, the way I feel satisfied with life is making sure I’m always doing something each week. I’ve recently gotten really into rock climbing which I love, I went to Bluesfest for a day this week which was AMAZING, climbed Mt Warning , getting back into guitar and my music, started Spanish lessons and also started learning a few hula hooping tricks. As long as I have something new or productive that I’m able to do each week I think is an awesome step to simply Do More, Be More.
Good vibes to you all.
On a completely unrelated note, here is a sweet picture I found
*my memory box is simply a box where I have some photos and all my festival and concert tickets that I’ve been to.
